At 6, the were overrun with people and if you didn't get there by 5:30 the line was so long you waited until 8 to eat. Functionally, there was a 6 pm seating and a 7:30/8 pm seating. What not so well: Dinner logistics were a disaster. Most all of the staff were wonderful with very few exceptions. Otherwise, what they did well: grounds were immaculate, facility was very well maintained, the food was good, maintenance to the room they was prompt (fridge, wifi, bathroom fan didn't work). We were told upon checking in that our 4th floor ocean view room was no longer available and we were going to get a 1st floor garden view room instead-ironically at the same time they were trying to sell use the Preferred Club upgrade! I complained to Hyatt and to Expedia and got nowhere except (and I kid you not) and invitation to come back! I am actually in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as this is a Hyatt chain.īook with a hotel that will give you what you pay for…I would definitely not have booked this hotel if I had known I was getting a garden view room. Our reservation was for a “One Bedroom Suite Ocean View” (from their website). The reason I would not return is that they gave us a very inferior room vs what we paid for. If you appreciate being treated like a walking dollar this is the place for you. Want a 20min shuttle to the airport? That’s not free either. Activities are pretty much minimum $120 to be crammed in with people from all other resorts. The hotel shop charged us around $45 USD for sunscreen. Then you have the fact that everything costs the same as in the US (if not more). They apologized but ignored attempts to resolve. Because that would apparently have made a difference… We even tried to reach out to the manager through Expedia since they were unavailable at checkout. Then when we brought it up at checkout because that is when you pay they essentially said “Too bad. ![]() When we got our food nothing matched what we expected or ordered. They asked us to select from 3 different menus weeks in advance. We were visiting for our anniversary and decided to do the “romantic beach dinner” they offer. When we brought it up we were asked “can you see the ocean?”… 2 days later we were able to get the view we paid for. When we got to our room half of our view was blocked by the resort itself. We selected and we’re charged for ocean view. When selecting rooms you have 3 options “ocean view”, “partial view”, and “garden view”. The property is plenty nice but we appreciate expectations being managed and met. Over promise and under deliver seemed to be the Moto of Dreams. ![]()
